Maricopa County, AZ, Texas, Florida Counties Lead Growth

Once again, Maricopa County, Arizona topped the U.S. Census Bureau’s annual population growth estimates for the period of July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022. Home to Phoenix, Scottsdale and a number of other fast growing cities, Maricopa County added nearly 60,000 residents in a twelve month span.  The significant migration has helped keep demand for multifamily strong in the Valley, however, ample new supply has more than offset the inflow of people.

Texas and Florida locales dominated the population growth rankings, as Harris County, TX, Collin County, TX, Denton County, TX and Polk County, FL round out the top 5. The North Texas counties of Collin and Denton have seen some of the strongest traffic in the nation over the past year according to Radix data (Dallas Metro Report). Of the top 20 counties, 15 are located in Texas or Florida.
